Cancerous tumour seen growing inside cigarette in New Year campaign This gruesome image of a tumour growing from a cigarette is part of the Governments latest attempt to get millions of Britons to stop smoking. The new Department of Health campaign launched today is in response to statistics which show more than a third of smokers still think the health risks are greatly exaggerated. This is despite the fact that smoking is still the biggest cause of premature death, responsible for taking more than 100000 lives in the UK every year. The latest campaign will focus on the fact that smoking just 15 cigarettes can cause a mutation that can lead to cancerous tumours, according to the Department of Health (DoH). Chief Medical Officer Professor Dame Sally Davies said smokers play Russian roulette with every cigarette. This is a hard-hitting campaign to get at the hidden harms of smoking, she said. People will see a man smoking and then a cancer growing out of the cigarette. That is what happens in peoples bodies. One-in-two smokers die from smoking, most from cancer. We know that people dont personalise the harms of smoking and dont understand whats happening in their bodies. This will show them. About two thirds of the nations 8million smokers say they want to quit and the campaign urges them to pick up a free NHS Quit Kit from pharmacies. Anti-smoking ad: Graphic anti-smoking ad launched

A series of hard-hitting government adverts featuring people smoking cigarettes with a tumour growing from the end is being launched in England. The ads will tell smokers that just 15 cigarettes can cause a mutation that leads to cancerous tumours in what marks a return to shock campaigning. It is eight years since governments "fatty cigarette" anti-smoking adverts appeared. This £2.7m ad campaign will appear on TV, online and posters until February. Smokers will also be told about NHS quit kits that are available free from pharmacies. More than a third of smokers still believe the health risks from smoking are greatly exaggerated, recent statistics from the Department of Health showed. Risk Chief medical officer Prof Dame Sally Davies said smokers were still underestimating the serious health risks from smoking. "We want smokers to understand that each packet of cigarettes increases their risk of cancer." "People will see a man smoking and then a cancer growing out of the cigarette. That is what happens in peoples bodies. "We really want to catch all smokers but particularly the young who wont have seen hard hitting campaigns before. They dont understand what damage is happening in their bodies, what their risks are," she added. The adverts follow the Stoptober campaign, which saw more than 270000 sign up in a mass attempt to quit two months ago. The ad campaign has received the backing of Cancer Research UK. Its chief executive Dr Harpal Kumar said: "Hard-hitting <b>…<b>

STOP Smoking Aid – The Electronic Cigarette

stop smoking aid@ CLICK HERE NOW While it is true that the electronic cigarette is not sold as a quit smoking aid, it is hard to deny that it does offer at least an alternative to tobacco smokers who have tried to quit before and failed. The biggest health risk to tobacco smokers is the unhealthy chemicals that are inhaled into their bodies from the burning of tobacco. Estimates say about 7000 chemicals are taken in when tobacco is burned and not one of these chemicals has any health benefits. So by switching to or at least alternating between the two, a smoker can begin reducing the amount of harmful chemical he or she is taking in. While the drug companies will tell you to take products like Chantix to stop smoking, they will gloss over the fact that their products are also harmful to you as well. Personally, I believe the e-cig is a great stepping stone to be able to live a more healthy lifestyle. And a person does not have to really give up smoking which most smokers really enjoy. Instead of inhaling tobacco products, they trade off for water vapor that very closely feels like smoking. If they want to reduce the nicotine, they can simply change the nicotine level of the vapor cartridges they buy. And dont forget as you re-order the cartridges, you will be saving 50%-60%-up to 75% of the cost of regular tobacco cigs. CLICK HERE [email protected]
