HealthCare Global Enterprises Ltd, The Specialist in Cancer Care, started the campaign "Quit Tobacco" in January, 2013, with an intention to help people quit from all forms of tobacco in Gujarat. Over 5000 people from all walks of life have pledged to "Quit Tobacco". They were congregated on February 3rd, 2013, at 5 PM, at Science City, for taking pledge to quit tobacco in the rock concert with Rise of the Zombie stars. A unique event has been created for the day, with the introduction of first "Rock Show" in a smoke free zone. A book was launched on "Stop smoking — add life to years", which signifies the importance of quitting smoking. At the launch Dr. Bharat Gadhavi — CEO & MD HCG Hospitals, Gujarat, said, "With increased awareness, there is clear evidence that suggests a decline in cancers related to tobacco, mainly lung, head & neck cancers. The Government of Gujarat banned Gutkha in the state. HCG in its endeavor to create awareness has initiated campaign to "Quit Tobacco" and is taking it to the next level with an aim to reduce tobacco consumption in all forms, thereby reducing the incidence of cancer."
